A24 saw the script and greenlit the film before X even started; was wrapped up
Scenario
in 1979 a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film on a rural Texas farm, but when they get separated and are caught in the act by their elderly owners, the crew fights for their lives. The day after the South by Southwest premiere of X (2022), writer/director Ti West revealed that he wrote the prequel Pearl during a mandatory two-week COVID-19 quarantine at his New Zealand hotel before the film began production. (2022). He asked star Mia Goth if she would like to stay in New Zealand to film The Pearl, and she readily agreed.
There are no opening credits
The prequel is released later in 2022. When Lorraine goes into the basement and turns on the light, there is a modern halogen bulb that didn’t exist in 1979. Maxine: I won’t accept a life I don’t deserve.. The title doesn’t even appear on the screen until the end.

Akt Naturally Performed by Loretta Lynn Written by Vonie Morrison, Johnny Russell Courtesy of Geffen Records under license from Universal Music Enterprises. Much more brutal than I expected. Decent horror elements, although it’s a bit weird and far-fetched and requires a certain amount of disbelief. The characters are mostly unlikable.
with a holier-than-thou demeanor
They are typical fame-seeking people who use alcohol and drugs and live a “free” life. They lie to themselves to cope by blurring the lines between what they call “work”; and in real life, but they mostly create virtue out of necessity. The film is mostly a quiet experience. Not much to follow or dissect.
I love the retro style cinematography
In conclusion, just sit back and enjoy. Watch a bunch of stupid people do stupid things and get stupid results. A24 has created some of the most memorable horror films of the 21st century. See which movies have the highest ratings on IMDb.
