The scar on Skye’s knee is in the shape of a smile
Scenario
About to embark on a world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley begins to experience increasingly terrifying and unexplained events. Overwhelmed by the ever-increasing pressure of horror and fame, Skye is forced to confront her past. In one scene, Skye places a VOSS water bottle on the stone/marble kitchen counter. and a sound is heard corresponding to the sound of placing something plastic. VOSS water bottles are glass, something that is actually highlighted in the film, so the sound doesn’t match the action you see.
Smile 2 came on strong and fast
Skye Riley: [smiling subject] You’re not in control, I am! . Submitted by The 7PM Project: 2024 October 17 series (2024). With its long "one take" opening that was gory and crazy, giving continuity to the original. The camera work and lighting in the film were excellent, the horror sequences were definitely enhanced by the pan shots and the use of reflections.
What a show
Naomi Scott! The descent into madness was terrifying (in a good way). I’d love to see an actress in horror nominated for an Oscar, but unfortunately, the genre is hard to crack when it comes to awards season. She was sincere and authentic. I would like to see more of her in similar roles.
Check out the dance troupe apartment scene
The movie unfortunately (in my opinion) relied too much on jump scares and loud noises. I understand that they are an important tool of the genre, but they should be used in a way that complements the story, not scaring the audience for their own sake. The movie really shined with scenes that were more creepy and disturbing than just jump scares. The scenes where the audience realizes that Skye is actually hallucinating are the most memorable and carry far more weight than the jump scares. I would appreciate it if we could learn more about the history of this entity and perhaps delve into its origins and history.
It was very disappointing and took the penultimate moment
Therefore, a sequel that offers more to the overall story is necessary. There is one scene (I know others will feel the same) where the director chose to use CGI instead of practical effects. The movie gave the audience some great horror moments and an amazing performance. However, due to the film’s over-reliance on gore and flash, it deviated from the gritty and dark tone of the original.
